Debate: Which is Better, College Football or the NFL?

Unfortunately, as is sometimes the case, real life gets in the way of what we’re trying to do here at the Peter Pan Fan Club. In other words there’s no good reason why it’s been nine days since we posted, except for work, family and getting old type stuff.

It’s not ideal, but sometimes for every two steps forward you take, you have no choice but to take a half-step back. That’s what happened this week.

Still, the show must go on, so in an effort to bridge the gap between nothingness and some solid PPFC content, I want to launch another debate.

This one is also aimed at the sports fans and is inspired by today’s USA Today. I read two columnists arguments for which they thought was better: college football or the NFL.

They both made good arguments, talking about pageantry, the BCS, playoffs, fan viewship, rivalries and more.

So what I want to know today is which you prefer and why.

College football or the NFL?

Have at it…

I’ve always been more of a college anything fan. Could be because the Cuse doesn’t have any pro teams, and the only team(s) I’ve ever truly cared about is Syracuse, but it’s also because whenever you play for pay (not that some college kids don’t get paid) it’s just different. At least it is for me anyway.

I will say the gap between the NFL and college football isn’t as big as the gap between college hoops and the NBA.

Politics and greed are ruining college athletics in general, but I’m still on the college side.
